I've been watching my beautiful ISA Brown hen today and every so often, after she's been dirt bathing or rolling in the straw, she'll try to get up and her legs will appear to buckle under her. She'll have a few goes at getting up and then next minute she's fine and running around perfectly happily.
I don't know if this is relevant or not, but she has just laid 24 eggs on consecutive days without a break, and today she hasn't laid. Is she just a bit weary (I would be after all that egg laying)
She's eating and drinking fine, looks wonderful and is getting on very well with her 3 companion hens.
Should I be worried?
I know you'll tell me if I'm just another neurotic British hen lover!!
