Hi
You can treat eye infections in chickens with preparations for humans if you have any handy. Also at some of the better feed and farm stores there will be Nitrofurazone eye powder in a puffer. Puff it directly in the eye. Also, eye infections are associated with CRD--Mycoplasma infection. It may or may not produce respiratory symptoms. It can be treated with antibiotics like tetracycline in the water, or injectable Tylan.
You can also get a terramycin eye ointment.
I have a bantam pullet who is having an eye problem. It is shut most of the time and swollen. No runny nose, lethargy or any other distress. Suggestions on what to give her???
