Sounds like a dumb question, but what is the proper amount of time to boil an egg? I always seem to under or over boil them. Thanks in advance.

Sunni, The size of the egg may determine exact time to boil, as well as the egg temperature when started. But 15-20 minutes can be an average for medium to large eggs. I like to start my eggs in cold salted water, and time them when the water starts to boil. Guess I really don't pay much attention to the time--as long as there is plenty of water. There is hardly any smell as bad as eggs burned in the shell!!! CJR

Adding a little vinegar to the water can make them easier to peel.
