Advise for egg-bound bird

Thoght I would pass along this information so that anyone with a similar problem might be helped.

I called an avian veterinarian regarding my egg-bound bird and this is what she said:

First, bring the ailing bird into a warm place in the house and do not massage the abdomen!. Administer antibiotics to the bird to eliminate possibility of pullorum or other infection.

She had stressed that steam or high humidity is good for the bird under this condition and suggested keeping the bird in a bathroom while a steamy shower ran etc...( don't put the bird in the shower, however).
If egg-bound, usually things work themselves out but there are several other complication that can arise....ie., things similar to an ectopic pregnancy where the egg is "out of the loop" and then surgery would be required to save the bird.
