I am considering getting some guineas and I would like to know how many I should get. If I can't get any localy (don't try to sell me any, i ain't givin' out any information abou where i live) i'll have to get thirty from a hatchery. Also what books would you recomend for some one raising PET guineas not dinner guineas. Another question, do guinea rooster fight like chicken rooster. Any information and or guinea web sites would be appreciated.
I have guineas. The way to make pets out of them is to be with them a lot when young, handling them some at very young age, handling more as they get older. I have several roosters but have never seen them fight with each other. They will, however, pick a fight with my chicken rooster.
I don't have any experience with guineas yet, but did read an excellent book on the subject recently. The author also has a great website that includes a Q&A section. The address is
Maggiej, i've been to the feather site. How many guinea fowl did you start out with.

Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the first page and check out the various sections. This is an entertaining website, as well as an educational one.
