Hello,
I've seen here a while back a question like this but did not read it. I have a Rhode Island Red hen, she jumps on the back of a couple of my Buff Orpingtons. Is this the pecking order thing? Or is she a little nutzo? Thanks once again for the help! Mike

Mike, Not to worry, perhaps peck order, perhaps a hormone thing. CJR

Your hen is definitely trying to be dominate - it is a way of her telling the one she is on that she is higher on the pecking order! I also had a Rhode Island Red who pulled off the same stunts! She was, of course, the leader of the gang!
