what do you feed a turkey that is going to be used for meat?
also can you let turkeys free range during the day or should they be in a fence? i heard that they get tough if you let them free range

I have no experience with turkeys but since no one answered your post, I'll try. If they are chicks or hatched this spring, feed turkey starter. I'm not sure when you should switch them over, if at all since your going to eat them. Hopefully someone who knows will respond. I do know that turkey starter has more protein than chick starter. Good luck with your birds. You could ask at your feed store, they should know.
