hi, one of my four pullets layed her first egg today. I have narrowed it down to two of them....one is a cornish X and the other is a red sex-link(looks a lot like an Isa Brown). the egg is medium brown and has tiny white spots all over. can someone tell me which one it came from? thanks

Probably the sexlink. I think the cornishX lay a white egg. Mina

Could be either bird, a cornish cross lays brown eggs (both parents are brown egg laying breeds, even ifone parent laid white eggs brow egg laying is a dominate gene).

YoYo is correct, it could be either bird. No way to tell for sure except to watch them closely & see who goes on the nest. You can try to feel the pelvic bones of each bird (the farther spread they are, the more likely that bird is laying), but if they are all approaching the laying cycle, that probably won't work either. Unfortunately, careful observation is the only surefire way to know.

I did watch and I found out it was my sex-link. she has been laying for three days straight now. Thanks
