I was wondering if cracked corn is acceptable to feed growing chickens?

Thanks,
Kristin

Kristin, Only in smallest amounts if you want them to grow well, it does not have a balanced feed value, even though they usually love it and will eat it before their "GROW" Ration. And be sure they have Grit, if you feed any whole or even cracked grains. CJR

Cracked corn is candy to a chicken.

i suggest turkey or game stater feed, because they don't have as many hormones or antibotics as chicken starter. thats what i use for my peeps, and it's basicly the same thing as the chicken stuff.
good luck

Rachel, Check the label on your Starter Feed. While I want the medicated feed for my chicks, others do not, and get along just fine. I have never seen a chicken ration with hormones added. But check the label, it has all the ingredients and additives. I sometimes have used game bird starter, but never found it was superior to that designed for chicks. Still, some birds may do better--you have to watch and decide. CJR
