The egg size is normal. Over the course of a couple of months they will
gradually get to full size, and stay that way until the second half of the
laying cycle, when they are often a little larger.
As to the growths on the combs, I'm a little puzzled. Are these on the sides
of the combs, or is this the comb itself growing. Pullet combs are usually
quite small, particularly compared to roosters, but get larger in time. Are
the lumps the same color? Same type of tissue? Same texture? Does it seem
like the growth is coming from inside the comb tissue? If you will answer
these questions, I will try to help further. Have you posted this on the
