I have a very active healthy flock and am wondering what kind of bird I'd get if I mixed my leghorns with my sussex rooster "Fred". I know he fertilizes the eggs, but would they hatch?

Your eggs will hatch as long as "Fred" is fertile and the birds are in good condition. I have never seen a Leghorn/Sussex cross so I can't tell you what to expect. Too bad you don't have a Sussex hen to raise pure Sussex?
