found an egg,was pretty warm when we found it and its been sitting on a heating pad.I thought it got a little too hot cuase i put it to my ear and there was like a scrathing noise,but regretfully and hopefully not,i thought it was boiling.10 min later it was still making that noise.

if you did the same thing that i did last year then you would already have six books on the subhect. Do you know how old it was when you found it?
the scratching noise probably meant that it was hatching. was it on top of a heating pad or under it?
chicks need to have 95.5 to 100 degrees ferignheight to live so it probably wasnt cooking if it hatched then goodluck with it. Keep trying and thatnks for doing something about it.
