By Cindymay on Friday, March 12, 1999 - 08:03 am:

I recieved 30 day old chicks 2 days ago. They have water(with terramycin), food and are in a brooder. One by one they seem to be getting sick(not eating or drinking, can't hardly stand up). I have lost 2 and 3 are not looking good. They go from being fine to death in about 12 hours. Please HELP

Did you dip their beaks in the water when they arrived?
IF they are huddled in a pile, increase the temperature under the brooder. If they are widely scattered, lower it a little. Are they out of drafts? What kind of chicks are they? If you have access to it, try something like Quik Chik or broiler booster, or order some for your next batch. Are they on sawdust? If so, put down newspapers and scatter feed on the papers to start them out. They may be eating sawdust or other bedding. Tell us more to help us help you.
