I have two pair of geese, toulouse and african.
I just posted the same problem over on the waterfowl thread. My geese are also 1 year old Toulouse. I left 3 old eggs in the nest to help incourage them to set then I collect each fresh egg and put them in the incubator.
some geese just won't set.
They are laying eggs like crazy, mostly in the same place, in a nice coop, but no one is babysitting!
They are all 1 yr old. and live on a large Northern Calif. foothills ranch. Free range. I'm wondering, are they too young to settle down? Or is it too early in season? I may just have 12 eggs to decorate for Easter??? Please advise!
thanks!

It's still early in the year and the geese are young. I think they will get serious about nesting later in the summer....

some don't like it.....and others just don't have the genes.
In fact, some chickens don't set because of there gene pool, too.
