My husband and I are raising chickens for the last 4 seasons. We have 16 hens and one rooster. They are the product of an incubater last spring. We have 3 hens that have been sitting for the last 2 weeks, on about 3 dozen eggs. They are cooped, and are utilizing stationary, wooden boxes that are filled with straw. They have not been seperated from the other hens or rooster. What would your suggestions be for us at this point in time? Also until what time into the season can we hatch additional chicks?
Hi. We have 2 hens that are setting and one of them should be ready to hatch her eggs about the first week of Feb. My question is how do we keep them alive. If we bring them in the house what can we keep them in that they will stay warm and still survive?
